Rafiki Update

First off, thanks to all that came out to our Jack's show with Egshan and Sol Tribe. Dance moves were at an all time special and broken glass was not as bad as it usually is. Since we made it to the new year and 2012 didn't prove its ultimate fate, we need your support!

This is a list of things that will help us bring in the new year righteously:

1.)Follow us on twitter @therafikiproject(just click the icon on the right side)

2.)Like us on Facebook (just click th icon on the right side)

3.)Listen to our words and notes carefully, we put numerous hours of work into our shiznet.

4.)Buy our merch, we don't necessarily believe in donations, unless its above $1,000.

5.)Come out to our shows!! and spread the good ol Rafiki word.(next show March 7th 2013 ATX Wildfire festival w/ Don "fukin" Carlos).

This is what we are doing for you!

1.) Writing and rehearsing new material that will hopefully move and groove you.

2.) Buying new merch that may include new shirts, discs, koozies, and lighters.

3.) Driving all around the Great Lone Star State to deliver the our message.

Thank you all for supporting us for the past 6 years in this crazy thing we call life. I'd like to get all deep and shit, but something is telling me to save it for another post. So long for now and enjoy the Earth while it's still here…

At JACKS BAR SA.  I know its early but if anyone needs a ride i'm sure Charlie is more than willing to give ya a lift on down to the show. Well until that day, or any days before, keep it greasy people. Much love

Hail Marley! Hail Yeah!

Saturday Night TRP had the privilege to play with Hail Marley, an Austin collective of musicians playing 100% Marley. The band includes Michael Hale(front man lead Vox), whose voice and stage presence is organically similar to many greats: one being Bob, of course, Claude McCan(Keys and Vox) a flawless keyboard player who effortlessly accents the rhythm of Marley tunes while hitting each vocal harmony with precision, Rudolph Aaron Eccles(bass man) who obviously studied the art of roots reggae bass line-ology, Fumihito Sugawara(Guitar), a tasteful guitarists who plays only the notes needed and delivers them with the timing of a master, and lastly, "Mr. Conductor," Lorenzo Jackson JR.(drums, vox, crazy dub sounds, and drum beats with mouth), lets just say he's ridiculously pro.

Hail Marley played what I would consider one of the best "debut shows" I have ever seen. Frontman, Michael Hale(hence the moniker), connected with the audience in a confident yet humble manner. Between songs he gave reverence to not only Mr. Marley, but each person in attendance. By the second song I was hooked. Tackling a feat such as this is challenging to most, but for Hail Marley it seems to be second nature.

I took away a recording from the night, "Kinky Reggae." Click here to listen. You will not be disappointed.

Your Hail Marley Fan,

TRP

Soul Shakedown Dance Party @ Flamingo Cantina!

We will be playing with Austin's own Contrabandits and Hail Marley! this Saturday(7/14). Check out Contrabandits here! Hail Marley is a Bob Marley tribute band, a collective of like minded musicians playing the best of Bob's music. Come out to Flamingo Cantina, 515 East 6th Street, and let your soul shake and shine(or glow)!
